Satellite pictures showed huge oil slick floating in the waters just 80 kilometers off the coast of Bulgaria, Bulgarian officials said.

"Wind blows from the northeast and the oil is a threat for Turkey, more than Bulgaria," said Atanas Balazov, a Bulgarian professor at Varna Marine Institute.

Bulgarian media reported that the oil spilled from an unknown tanker.

The amount of oil is estimated to be 80 tons according to Russian experts who spotted the oil spill a few days ago with the help of satellite pictures.
