Lawyer Alparslan Arslan, who carried out the bloody attack last Wednesday on Turkey's highest administrative court, the Council of State, has revealed through questioning that his code name, as used among friends, was "Polat," a reference to the infamous main character on a popular Turkish crime series "Valley of the Wolves." Arslan, who is currently being held at the Sincan F Type Prison, is only one of the many suspects being questioned at this time in connection with the case.

Retired lieutenant colonel Muzaffer Tekin, who is seen a possibly key name in both the Council of State and the Cumhuriyet newspaper attacks, is also being questioned in Ankara. Thus far, Tekin has admitted to knowing Arslan, but has said that he has no connection with the attacks. Tekin has said that despite the fact that Arslan had called him quite a few times, he had made "made an effort" not to be in contact with Arslan, due to what he termed "imbalances" in his character.

Another suspect in the attacks, Ayhan Parlak, is thought to have a connection to Muzaffer Tekin and Arpaslan Arslan, but is also thought by police to have left the country.
