-- ONE TURKISH NATIONAL AMONG PASSENGERS OF MISSING AIR FRANCE PLANE
A Turkish national has been reported to have been on board an Air France jet that went missing three hours after take off from Rio de Janeiro bound for Paris. The Turkish national was identified as Fatma Ceren Necipoglu (37), a harp player, who was returning home after performing in two concerts in Rio de Janeiro.

-- TURKISH EXPORTS PLUMMET
Export figures in Turkey saw a record plunge in May with a drop of 39.97 percent over the same period last year. Exports in the first six months of the year were just $7.354 million.

-- FIRST OIL FROM IRAQ'S NORTH TO TURKEY
First official exports of oil from fields in Iraq's north began on Monday as it was pumped to Turkey through the Kirkuk-Yumurtalik pipeline through which it would reach international markets. The pipeline is planned to carry about 100,000barrels of northern Iraqi oil a day within the first year with an expected turnover of about $2 billion.

Ceren Necipoglu, a lecturer of Anadolu University, was the only Turkish passenger of the Air France plane that disappeared over the Atlantic Ocean. Ceren Necipoglu (37) attended a harp concert in Brazil upon an invitation. Ceren was returning to Turkey to attend the final exam of her four students.

-- MELTDOWN IN EXPORTS REACHES 40 PERCENT
The Assembly of Turkish Exporters, or TIM, said exports dropped 39.97 percent to $7.3 billion in May, 2009 when compared to May, 2008. Automotive, ready-wear and chemical substances were among the sectors that conduct the most exports.

-- TURKISH MUSICIAN ABOARD MISSING PLANE
An Air France jet with 228 people on a flight to Paris left radar contact and vanished over the Atlantic Ocean after flying into a strong thunderstorm and sending an automated message that the electrical system had failed. A Turkish academician and a harpist,Fatma Ceren Necipoglu, who attended a festival in Rio, was aboard the plane.

-- PEACE VALVE
A new period with north of Iraq... Kurdish oil has started to flow to the West via Turkey as of Monday. The oil produced in the Taq Taq region near Irbil has started to be pumped to Ceyhan through the Kirkuk-Yumurtalik pipeline. A consortium, established by General Energy, a company of the Cukurova Group, together with two western groups, extract 40,000 barrels of oil per day.

One Turkish citizen has been reported to have been a board the Air France plane that went missing over the Atlantic after taking off from Brazil's Rio de Janeiro bound for Paris. The Turkish national was identified as Ceren Necipoglu, a harpist with the Anadolu University State Conservatory.

-- GOVERNMENT TO ANNOUNCE STIMULUS PACKAGE TO BOOST INVESTMENTS
Premier Tayyip Erdogan is expected to make public a stimulus package to boost investments with an eye to decrease unemployment and revive stumbling markets. The package includes government aid for investors for new business start- ups with major tax reductions and exemption from customs duties. Cities in Turkey's eastern and southeastern regions will be high on the list to receive government support.

-- NORTHERN IRAQI OIL STARTS TO FLOW
Oil from fields in Iraq's north has begun to be pumped to Turkey's Mediterranean port of Ceyhan where it would be shipped to international markets. An inauguration ceremony was held in Arbil for at the start of the first official exportation of oil from the region through the Kirkuk-Ceyhan Oil Pipeline at an initial planned rate of about 100,000 barrels per day.       Â

-- WORKERS' UNION PREPARES DRAFT FOR NEW CONSTITUTION
The Confederation of Progressive Trade Unions of Turkey, or DISK, made public a draft for a new Constitution in Turkey. The draft makes special emphasis on the introduction section which states "the new Constitution is written by men and women of the Republic of Turkey, inheritors of the legacy of Anatolian civilizations."

-- PLANE VANISHES OVER ATLANTIC
A passenger plane of Air France on route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris vanished over the Atlantic Ocean after sending a failure signal. One of the 216 passengers on board the flight is Turkish harpist Fatma Ceren Necipoglu.

-- YOK CHANGES "INTRA-UNIVERSITY TRANSFER" APPLICATION IN SABANCI UNIVERSITY
Sabanci University allows its students to change department in line with a system in place in Yale and Harvard universities. The Higher Education Board, YOK, opposed the system saying, "This application is good, but all universities should have the same application." The YOK chairman appreciates the system but finds it unfair unless all universities implement it.

-- ARBITRARY RISE IN FUEL OIL PRICES ENDS
The Turkish Energy Market Regulation Board, or EPDK, reacted against oil companies that raised the sale price of oil excessively, disregarding market conditions. The EPDK said that prices were determined against market conditions and warned companies to adjust the prices before June 20. "Otherwise, the EPDK will launch an investigation and apply the practice of ceiling prices."

-- DINK'S SON BEGINS MILITARY SERVICE
It was discovered that Arat Dink, who was reported to have gone abroad after the murder of his father Hrant Dink, has been serving his military service. Dink is expected to receive his discharge papers from his military unit in Canakkale in September.
