-- WE HAVE BECOME TARGETS
Turkish Constitutional Court Chief Judge Hasim Kilic said that he and other members of the court were being attacked and they had become targets. Kilic called on public prosecutors to carry out their duties on the issue. "As the Constitutional Court, we condemn careless criticisms and  statements," he said.

-- WORLD GIANT TO OPEN BASE IN TURKEY
GE Healthcare, the healthcare services branch of General Electric Company, picked Istanbul as its new international operation base. The company will direct 80 countries from its base in Turkey.  Richard di Benedetto, President and CEO of GE Healthcare's EAGM region, said that the company offered employment opportunities to 240 people in Turkey and 800 in the region.

-- COURT'S HARSH REACTION
Constitutional Court which suffered from harsh criticisms after it overturned an amendment which lifted headscarf at universities released a written statement. The court said it condemned "the heedless statements about its decisions which violated all moral and humane values" in its statement.

TURKEY HESITANT TO ATTEND MEDITERRANEAN SUMMIT
Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan said Turkey has not yet made a decision whether it would attend the Union for the Mediterranean project that would take place on July 13th. "We may not participate in it," Babacan told reporters.

-- GULER: WE COOPERATE IN NATURAL GAS, WE ARE READY FOR NUCLEAR ENERGY
Energy Minister Hilmi Guler said that Turkey carried on talks with Syria and Iraq for the extraction of the natural gas in Iraq. Guler also invited Arab investors to participate in tenders on nuclear energy.

-- CHAOS STARTED WITH GUL'S ELECTION, BAYKAL
Deniz Baykal, chairperson of Republican People's Party (CHP), commented on President Abdullah Gul's remarks stating that "a political turmoil arose in Turkey with the closure case filed against AKP". "It would not be wrong if somebody else said that the chaos in Turkey started with Gul's being elected as president," Baykal said.

-- SAUDI ARABIA TO PURCHASE FIELDS IN TURKEY

Saudi authorities decided that they would purchase fields in five countries including Turkey and they would plant cereals in these fields to preserve their water sources. Wheat, corn and rice will be planted in 100,000 hectare fields in Turkey and the harvest will be taken to Saudi Arabia.

-- GULER CALLS ON ARABS TO TAKE PART IN NUCLEAR TENDER

Energy Minister Hilmi Guler attended the 3rd Turkish-Arab Economic Forum and replied to questions on several matters. Guler called on Arab businessmen to participate in nuclear energy tender process in Turkey.

-- HIGH COURT WARNS GOVERNMENT

The Constitutional Court said that remarks and statements about ongoing lawsuits were outlawed under the Turkish Penal code. The Court's decision that overturned an amendment which lifted headscarf at universities was published in the Official Gazette on Friday. The Court released a harsh statement yesterday. Constitutional Court said in its statement that it condemned "the heedless statements about its decisions which violated all moral and humane values" and the authorities' indifference vis-a-vis of these remarks was baffling.

Nearly 15 million students received their transcripts on Friday and three-month summer holiday started for them. Students will enjoy their holidays till September 8th.

Presidency of the Constitutional Court said that decisions of the court were criticized carelessly and without regarding any human and moral values, adding that such stance constituted a crime. The court also called on public prosecutors to take action regarding the issue.

-- TURKS IN SPACE AGAIN

Turkey's new satellite "Turksat 3A" was launched from the Kourou base of French Guiana the other night. After a 10-day journey, the satellite will position itself and Golbasi Satellite Station will start to manage it.

-- ISTANBUL TO BECOME HEALTH BASE OF GE

World giant GE chose Istanbul as its international operation center. GE Healthcare, General Electric's (GE) healthcare services branch worth 17 billion USD, will start managing its operations in 80 countries from Turkey.

-- TPAO GIVES GOOD NEWS ABOUT BLACK SEA

Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) has got good results from nine oil-wells in Black Sea. TPAO Director General Mehmet Uysal said they would start production three years later and they aimed to extract 10 billion barrels of oil from these wells by 2013.
