AKP's Central Executive Board decided to make a call to Parliament on Tuesday, to gather on September 14 in an extraordinary session, so as to pass the new Penal Code.AKP held a meeting which lasted 2 hours with the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan. Deputy General Manager Dengir Mir Mehmet Firat, who made a statement after the meeting, declared that they decided to hold an extraordinary meeting of the Turkish Parliament for the adoption of draft for new Turkish Penal Code. Fırat said that only the Turkish Penal Code would be discussed and passed in the Parliament which would hold an extraordinary meeting, and that following thereof, the Parliament would close as to reopen on October 1 which was the normal time of the Parliament.Firat declared also that the Central Executive Board decided to hold a meeting of 3 days with the participation of deputies as well in Kızılcahamam on September 27-29 for the programming of studies of new session of the Parliament.Upon the questions of the reporters, Firat declared that National Intelligence Agency-High Appeals Court incident was not brought to the agenda at the meeting. He said, "Because this incident is totally unrelated with the government, the Parliament and our party. It is related with the judiciary. But we closely follow the developments, as well.Â
