A quake measuring 5.6 on the Richer Scale occured in Aegean city Izmir at 03.40. The center of the quake was Urla city. The city's Mayor Ahmet Piristina said that there was no casualties in the quake.

Officials of the Bogaziçi University's Earthquake Research Center and Kandilli Observatory said that the earthquake occured early this morning scaling 5.6.

Izmir's Governor Ziya Göksu said that 90 people were hospitalized after the quake.
