U.S. officials told Hurriyet that there was no problem concerning the 8.5-billion-dollar loan on the part of Washington, however Turkey had not demanded the first installment yet. These officials said; Ankara is awaited to ask for the first installment. The first installment will be released in ten days after we receive the demand.
On the other hand, IMF officials told Hurriyet that following the 6th Review, there was no problem regarding the 500 million dollars of credit, which would be extended to Turkey by IMF. The officials said; The IMF Executive Directors Board, which is going to gather in the first or second week of November, will most probably release the first installment of this credit. Then the 7th Review process will begin. The officials especially stressed that Turkey implemented the program very well and IMF appreciated this. However they stressed that Ankara should bear the same determination in the next year as well.
