U.S. based the limit she imposed on the money transfers from Iraq on the prevention of fostering terrorism. Rifat Hisarciklioglu, the President of Turkey Chambers and Exchanges Union (TOBB), who met Eric Edelman, U.S. Ambassador to Ankara on Monday, said that the bilateral trade between Turkey and Iraq would be adversely affected by this limit of 10 thousand dollars.

Hisarciklioglu told Edelman, “The restriction of 10 thousand dollars on the money transfers from Iraq will negatively affect the trade in private sector. It will be beneficial to materialize this transition in a smoother way. This decision will affect not only Turkish businessmen but also the Iraqi public. I think that this decision should be reviewed in terms of its impact on the normalization process in Iraq.”

Edelman said that he was aware of the importance of the issue and that; We are evaluating the issue together with Coalition Provisional Authority. The aim here is to block the sources feeding terror. However I acknowledge that you are right.
