Two new positions to be held in Afghanistan

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has declared that Turkey is to command two new military missions in Afghanistan. The PM Erdoğan declared in a message dispatched in commemoration of Turkey’s 54th year as member of NATO: “We will be holding the commanding position at the Kabul Headquarters of the Brigade of the Multinational Peace Force of South-east Europe of which we are a founding member for a six-month period as of the end of this month. Turkey will also be running the Kabul Regional Commandership for a two year period beginning in August 2006, in partnership with Italy and France.”
