Turkish Parliament Speaker Koksal Toptan has departed for Kazakhstan on Sunday.

Toptan will pay a formal visit to Kazakhstan and then proceed to Kyrgystan. He is scheduled to meet presidents, parliament speakers and prime ministers of the two countries.

Prior to his departure from Ankara's Esenboga Airport, Toptan told reporters that he would visit educational institutions established by Turkey in these countries.

Toptan also said that he would hold talks with Kazakh and Kyrgyz officials on the establishment of a Joint Parliamentary Assembly of Turkish-Speaking Countries.

"We may also have opportunity to discuss and look over energy issues about what have done so far to transfer Kazakhstan's oil and natural gas to the West," he said.
