    Turkish minister meets with EBRD head

    Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Nazim Ekren met on Friday with Thomas Mirow, president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

    Ekren told reporters before the meeting that they would take up with Mirow a number of joint projects in bid to improve and re-structure public and private sectors.


    The Turkish minister also said he would exchange views with Mirow on the global financial turmoil, and the energy and food crisis.


    Mirow said Turkey's economy had made very stable and promising progress, describing the Turkey as "a country of opportunities".


    The EBRD plans to provide Turkey with investments worth $600 million by 2010.
