    Turkey Ranks Highest in Growth but Low in Income

    Turkey's economy had the highest growth rate last year among OECD members, 9.8 percent, according to calculations made by the OECD based on fixed numbers from 2000. On the other hand, Turkey ranked last in income per capita, but ranked 28th in price level.

    While Turkey passed Iceland (ranked the second) with 3.9 points in growth rate, she ensured growth 6.2 points over the OECD average, 7.6 points over the average of EU 15 countries and 7.9 points over the Euro region.
