Eurasian countries should cooperate on alternative energy sources, Turkey's Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler said on Thursday.

"Oil prices hit a record $120 per barrel and the figure could probably rise more, we should attach importance to alternative energy sources such as wind and solar energy," said Guler at the 11th Eurasia Economy Summit in Istanbul.

"There should be a cooperation in the area of alternative energy among Eurasian countries. I invite you to develop projects in this area, together we could jointly produce wind tribunes," Guler said.

Turkey can also become a center in regard to nuclear energy and Eurasian countries should also cooperate in this field, he said.
