    Turkey establishes commission for financial crisis

    Turkey has decided to establish an "observation commission", including three ministers, to overcome the gradually deepening global crisis with the leastdamage, Vatan daily reported on Saturday.

    The commission will closely observe the debts of the financial sector, households and the private sector and will immediately intervene to counter any problems as they occur, the report said.

     

    Household checks and credit card debts will be monitored in the context the commission’s activities.

     

    State Minister for Economy Nazim Ekren will chair the commission which will also include State Minister for Treasury Mehmet Simsek and Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan.

     

    The framework of the commission will be determined following a meeting of the Economy Coordination Committee scheduled on Monday, Vatan also said.
