Turkey and Algeria to cooperate on pipeline project
Turkey has won a tender worth $115 million for an oil pipeline project in Algeria. The project will be the largest trade agreement to date signed between the two countries. Turkey’s BMB, Noksel and Umran consortium, under the supervision of Borusan Mannesmann Pipeline Company, won the tender which was opened by Sonatrach TRC of Algeria. The pipeline, the Haoud Al-Hamra-Skikda NK1, will be 665 km in total, and will run between Haoud Al-Hamra, where the country's energy resources are concentrated, and Skikda on the Mediterranean coast.
