Though no official announcement, new US ambassador to Ankara looks to be Ross Wilson
22.09.2005 - 11:20 | Son Güncelleme:
Despite no official announcement from the White House, diplomatic sources assert that the new US Ambassador to Turkey has been decided on, and that his name is Ross Wilson. Sources say following Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's suggestion to the White House, Wilson was approved, and that he has even started to study Turkish. Sources also say that one of the reasons there has been as yet no official announcement from Washington DC as to former Ambassador Eric Edelman's replacement is due to the atmosphere clouding Ankara-Washington relations as they concerned Edelman.
Edelman, himself Jewish, apparently made no secret of his displeasure with what he viewed as the outright anti-semitism of some of the press and publication organizations in support of the AKP administration.
