    Third quake hits Turkish town in a month

    A third-earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale, hit the eastern Turkish town of Karliova in Bingol province 11.44 p.m. Wednesday night, sending panic through the town among residents and damaging buildings. Twenty residents have been treated in hospital for shock.

    Residents whose homes had been damaged in the previous tremors have been spending nights in tents. Television stations showed residents sitting in the streets, wrapped in blankets.
