Parliamentary Justice Sub-Commission decided to review the “woman articles” in the new regulation. The articles, which will be reviewed, include:
· Rape on consent: The expression of, “raping infants with their consent” will be amended. The relevant article will openly state that no one below 15 can consent, and will increase the punishment for this crime.
· Forced sexual intercourse in marriage: The parts of the new TCK, which relate to considering forced sexual intercourse without the consent of woman in marriages as rape and to punishment for this crime will be re-discussed.
· Punishment for bosses: Women also demand that punishments for the sexual harassment by superiors or bosses in the workplace should be increased. It is stated that sexual harassment by those, to whom a woman is tied economically, causes grave psychological pressure.
One of the punishments that attract attention in the new TCK motion is that it foresees lifetime prison sentence for the felon if the victim of a rape case dies. Moreover, if a man, who leaves his wife or significant other, even though he knows that the woman is pregnant and helpless, he can be punished with 1 year of prison sentence.
