The reasoned decision in Turkey’s headscarf case was sent to the Prime Ministry Tuesday for publication in the Official Gazette, TV channels reported on Tuesday. (UPDATED)

It will be published in the Official Gazette on Wednesday, the channels added.

Turkey's top court cancelled on June 5 a government-sponsored constitutional amendment lifting a ban on wearing headscarves at universities.

The reasoned decision in the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) closure case is also expected to be revealed in the coming days.

The constitutional court ruled against demands to close the governing party in its critical decision handed down on July 30. However the court ruled with an overwhelming majority that the AKP had become the focal point of anti-secular activities and issued a “serious warning”, depriving the party of the financial assistance that it would receive from the state.

Chief prosecutor, Abdurrahman Yalcinkaya, who filed the closure case against the AKP, is waiting for the reasoned verdicts to determine the "red lines" on some crucial issues, such as the headscarf, secularism, and religious schools, according to media reports. In the case the ruling AKP attempts to cross the designated “red lines", he is expected to re-launch the legal process.
