The reasoned verdicts of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) closure and headscarf cases will be announced by Oct.15, Hurriyet daily reported Monday citing Turkey's Constitutional Court chairman, Hasim Kilic.

The constitutional court ruled against demands to close the governing party in its critical decision handed down on July 30. However the court ruled with an overwhelming majority that the AKP had become the focal point of anti-secular activities and issued a “serious warning”, depriving the party of the financial assistance that it would receive from the state.

Turkey's top court cancelled on June 5 a constitutional amendment lifting a ban on wearing headscarves at universities.

Chief prosecutor, Abdurrahman Yalcinkaya, who filed the closure case against the AKP, is waiting for the reasoned verdicts to determine the "red lines" on some crucial issues, such as the headscarf, secularism, and religious schools, Hurriyet also wrote. In the case the ruling AKP attempts to cross the designated “red lines", he is expected to re-launch the legal process.
