With news of the latest PKK terror attack in southeastern Turkey near the Iraqi border shaking Ankara, President Abdullah Gul yesterday headed a security summit in the capital, underscoring "Whatever the price is, we will not try to escape paying it," in reference to possible responses to PKK terror.

Yesterday's Ankara summit included President Gul, General Yasar Buyukanit, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Undersecretary of the Turkish Intelligence Unit (MIT), Emre Taner, and many other top level government ministers. It is further expected that President Gul will receive the leaders of the various opposition parties today at Cankaya Presidential Palace for briefings on the situation near the Turkish borders with Iraq.
