Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has made an unannounced historical invitation to Greek Cypriot leader Tasos Papadopulous via his country man Nikos Anastasiadis (leader of Greek Cypriot main opposition party DISI)."Papadopulous is said to have a wish to have a meeting with me. I am ready to meet. He may come to Northern Cyprus and let us solve this issue by drinking coffee face-to-face and talking with each other. If he accepts this suggestion, I will immediately come to Northern Cyprus next week," said the Premier when he met Anastasiadis in Istanbul.  "Papadopulous has leaned on the EU and not tried to find any solution over the issue of unity for the island. UN Secretary- General Kofi Annan requested several things from him for a new solution process but he is doing nothing to kick-start these requests," said the PM criticizing the presently stalled process fro reform in Cyprus.PM Erdogan then quoted Papadopulous with regards to these requests, saying that Papadopulous had said that " in a statement made by Kofi Annan, the UN does not request anything from Turkey."  Prime Minister Erdogan went on to say, "his addressee wasn't  "Turkey", but but Turkish Cypriot Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Talat. And that if Annan requests some things from Talat, of course Talat would send them."
