Hundreds of PKK supporters demonstrated outside United Nations headquarters in Beirut on Sunday to protest against the alleged mistreatment in prison of Abdullah Ocalan, leader of the terror organization, PKK.

The protesters, who began their march at Borj Hammoud, a mostly Armenian district in the northeast of the city, waved photos of Ocalan, AFP reported.

"By our soul, by our blood, we sacrifice ourselves for you, oh chief," AFP quoted many as chanting.

The protesters stamped on the Turkish flag in front of the central Beirut building of the U.N.'s Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia and issued a press release denouncing the "inhuman treatment" inflicted on Ocalan.

The PKK supporters also recently held mass demonstrations in eastern and southeastern provinces of Turkey, claiming Ocalan, the imprisoned leader of the terror organization PKK, had been mistreated in Turkey's Imrali prison where he is serving a life sentence.
