The Governor of the northern Iraqi largely Kurdish city of Suleymaniye has reportedly called Faik Gulpi, the head of the Kurdistan Democratic Solution Party, to his offices with a request that Gulpi close down his party's offices in the city. Mention of this request was published in the Kurdish Roj Welat newspaper as proof of the ties between the PKK and the Kurdistan Democratic Solution Party.

While Gulpi was apparently told his party had 10 days in which to cease his party's activities, he also reportedly asserted that he would pursue his rights on the matter. He also reportedly expressed anger at what he said was the allowing of Turkmeni political parties to operate in northern Iraq without repurcussion.
