İstanbul, Mar 30 (DHA) – Some 416 officials dismissed from their duties for suspected links to the Fethullahist Terror Organization (FETÖ), accused of orchestrating the failed July 2016 coup attempt, will be reinstated, according to a new statutory decree.
The decree, announced as part of the ongoing state of emergency, was published in the Official Gazette on Wednesday and stated that the 416 employees must return to work within 10 days to be reinstated. All the financial and social rights that they lost after they were dismissed will also be reinstated, it added.
The civil servants were suspended on suspicion of being members or linked to FETÖ and include officials from the interior, health, justice and national defense ministries, as well as from the Turkish Armed Forces, the General Directorate of Security, the Directorate of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) and other state institutions.
They were among thousands of public officials dismissed across the country in the wake of the July 15, 2016 coup attempt, while many others remain under investigation.
