Eight people were wounded in a blast at a scrap dealer's shop in the Topkapi district of Istanbul. A fire broke out following the blast, which occurred while deodorant sprayers were being pressed, reported officials. The wounded were immediately rushed to hospital and firefighters worked hard to extinguish the fire before it spread to the nearby industrial buildings. An eye-witness said that scrap metal was scattered over several meters following the blast.

Romanian citizen Niko Robert, Azerbaijani citizens Kamuran Caferov and Nalig Aliyev, and five Turkish citizens, Mustafa Cetin, Beyazit Okuroglu, Hakan Turk, Cumali Koseoglu and Ahmet Resuloglu, were among the wounded.
