Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, in a statement yesterday to the Reuters news agency, said that while the Baghdad administration was not "comfortable" with the motion passed two days ago in Turkish Parliament (TBMM) to allow military action in northern Iraq, it strongly wanted the terrorist PKK forces to "leave Iraq in the shortest time possible."

Zebari also told Reuters that the motion passed by the TBMM did not "serve Turkish-Iraqi relations," noting: "The presence of the PKK in northern Iraq does not continue with the approval of either the Baghdad administration or the regional Kurdish authority.....There can be absolutely no doubt that our official demand of the PKK is that they leave Iraq and the Iraqi people; they must not add more trouble to the amount of trouble we already have."
In a separate statement to the Associated Press yesterday, Zebari talked about the difficulties of getting the PKK to leave, noting that while Baghdad wanted to see the PKK's departure from Iraqi soil, they "don't have enough power to do so."
