The pipeline which had been out of use for two years, plans to carry exports to Turkey. This is just another incident in a long line of attacks on pipelines in Iraq. Most of the attacks have been concentrated in the Sunni Muslim areas in the North.

Present production is at an all time low of around 400,000 barrels a day, compared with 800,000 barrels per day before the war.
