Iran has started slaughtering birds along its Turkish border over the weekend in order to prevent the spread of the H5N1 virus. Turkey's neighbors are more than a little jumpy over the spread of the virus as 26 of its 81 provinces have now been confirmed as having cases of bird flu. Iran has culled thousands of birds over the weekend along its Turkish border. Israel reported a suspected case on Monday morning in Jerusalem, proving that Turkey's neighbors should be nervous and take preventative measures where a possible risk is posed.

Greece has already organized a public awareness campaign around its Turkish borders, health officials were reported putting up posters and handing out leaflets at border points with its eastern neighbor.
