Honda is set to manufacture Jazz Sedan in Turkey in September 2005. Moreover, Honda Turkey started to compete with the EK for a small-scale vehicle to be manufactured for European markets.
Honda Turkey, which had up-to-now remained out of growth and the export initiative of the automotive sector in Turkey, is getting prepared for the years 2005 and 2006. Among these preparations, the most important part will be the Jazz Sedan and a new small automobile in the A class. Manufacture of Jazz Sedan at Honda Turkey installations is planned to be commenced in September 2005.
According to the news of Economist, for the small automobile type developed for export to European markets, competition continues with the British plant, and excavation and field leveling studies have started at the plant area in Sekerpinar.
Honda Turkey, which was producing only Civic Sedan so far since 1997 when it first started to operate, takes important steps towards growing after it departed the Anadolu Group in 2002. Honda Turkey's export target for this year is 5 thousand. Honda Turkey will make a new investment worth 10 million dollars for Jazz Sedan.
