Workers hold managers at Caterpillar plant

GRENOBLE, France - French workers yesterday detained four managers from U.S. firm Caterpillar at a plant in the southern city of Grenoble in protest at plans to slash hundreds of jobs, a union official said.
The workers barricaded their bosses in a management office in the morning to demand fresh negotiations on laying off 733 workers at the factory, said union official Benoit Nicolas. "We are holding them in the director's office," said Nicolas. "They are a little stunned."
