U.S. Focused on Security In Northern Iraq

UK , February 16 - The Guardian daily newspaper reported that the U.S. is strongly opposed to the probable intervention of Turkey with regards to the subject of claims of Kurds rigging the election results in Kirkuk. The U.S. reconfirmed that they had concentrated on a the security of Northern Iraq as a precaution to the days following the elections over national security within the country.Stating that the U.S. and the EU did not welcome an intervention, they too objected to the independence of Kurds. The daily alleged that the tensions over Kirkuk has put a spotlight on added pressure on Prime Minister Erdogan over the well-known sensitivities for Tukey in Kirkuk.Â
