Two soldiers dead in mine explosion

A mine exploded killing two soldiers and injuring two others in a rural area of Cukurca Township in southeastern city of Hakkari. The mine is thought to be the work of Kurdish militants from the outlawed Kurdistan Worker's Party (PKK). The Village Guard were carrying out an operation in search of Kurdish militants when the mine exploded in the Isikli area. The injured were being treated in hospital, and a wide scale operation has been launched in the region. Â
