Two killed as mine collapses in eastern Turkey

The state-run news agency says a shaft collapse in a chrome mine has killed two miners in eastern Turkey.

The Anatolia agency says rescuers pulled out the bodies of the miners, who were buried in a mine in eastern Elazig province Friday. It was not clear what caused the mine to collapse.
There have been several accidents in Turkey’s mines due to safety violations, outdated equipment.
