    Turks Happier than Expected

    The State Statistics Institute (SSI) announced its second Happiness Test conducted on 6,714 people all over Turkey. Findings showed that almost half of the Turkish population are complaining of insufficient wages but 58 percent of them were found to be "happy" and "very happy".

    According to the test; 48.7 percent said they were happy, 9.3 percent said they were very happy, 2.6 percent said they were very unhappy, 9.5 percent said they were unhappy and 9.8 percent said they were happy in average.

    The rate of happiness of those earning more than 1.1 billion is; 72.6 percent.
    Radikal newspaper made a previous survey using it in a headline on Feb. 4 entitled “We are all Poor.” The new survey done by the SSI shows that Turks are happy and not completely without hope for their future.
