Turkish parliament approves bill on new warplanes

The Turkish parliament adopted on Thursday a bill on the approval of an international agreement regarding Turkey's participation in the production and development phase of Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) jets.

The law enacted by the parliament foresees that Turkey would become a partner of the world's most important defense project worth $250 billion.
JSF jets will replace F-4 and F-16 fighters which will conclude their lifespan technically and economically by 2010.    Â
