    Turkey's 41st hydroelectric plant starts generating electricity

    Turkey's 41st hydroelectric plant has started generating electricity in the eastern province of Erzincan.

    The Calkisla Hydroelectric Plant, constructed by a private company, will produce 17 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.

    "The hydroelectric plant was constructed on Calkisla river," Ic-En Electricity Operation Director Behcet Kocak told reporters on Thursday.

    Kocak said the hydroelectric power plant cost $10 million to construct.
