In a statement after meeting Japanese PM Junichiro Koizumi, PM Tayyip Erdogan said that, the restructuring of the Middle East and Iraq came into agenda at their meeting and that “We have subcontractor companies working in Iraq. We discussed cooperating on these matters.”

He added that the fact that Japan’s economy was very good was, because of education. Erdogan said that his government was also on the way towards improving education in Turkey and drew attention to the importance of technical high schools. Erdogan said, “This is not a matter of 3-5 years, but a long-range issue. We will continue our work until we make our classrooms of 30 people and set up the internet and computer networks.”

Erdogan said that he also talked with the chairmen of big companies in Japan. In these meetings, he said, investments to be made in Turkey such as health services, high way and automotive, were taken up.
