Turkey raises 17.3m YTL for Pakistan quake victims

In a statement made by the SG of Turkish Red Crescent Muzaffer Komit on Monday, it was indicated that Turkey has collected a total of 17.3 million YTL (about $13 million) for victims of the earthquake in Pakistan. Komit also stated that the Turkish Red Crescent had immediately sent tents, food and clothes to the region in emergency relief aid following the devastating quake, and noted that four Turkish teams were actually working in the region.

Komit added that after the quake in Pakistan and tsunami in South Asia at the end of last year, construction of 1,658 dwellings were underway in the region thanks to aids collected in Turkey.
