Speaking at the funeral, Deputy PM Abdullah Gul said that “Our grief is deep. The biggest dedication to be shown to Sakip Aga (Lord) , is to work, to work and to work to create the Turkey he fought for.”
High-ranking officials from Sabanci’s foreign partners Carrefour, Hyndai, Mitsubishi and Toyota were present in the funeral.
Thousands of people saw Sakip Sabanci off his last travel. Ceremonies were held first in Sabanci Center, then in Fatih Mosque and Zincirlikuyu Cemetery. His family, politicians, journalists, military officers, artists, students, sportsmen, guardians were there. Thousands of people opened their hands and prayed, cried for dearest Sakip Sabanci.
