Ozkok: We should unite against violence

Turkish General Staff Chief Gen. Hilmi Ozkok has called for national resistance and solidarity against provocations. Diyarbakir's city governor Efkan Ala, met with Gen. Ozkok and with other high-ranking generals to discuss the recent provocations that have been taking place across the country. The general stressed that society should be united across the board for the stability of the country as violence could serve no purpose. Questioned by the press he evaluated the recent incidents that took place in the country, Gen. Ozkok said, ''We shouldn't exaggerate the incidents, but we should think deeply about them. These individual incidents don't reflect the views of the total Turkish nation or the people of a certain city. These incidents took place due to provocation and we should show national resistance and solidarity against such provocations.'' Â
