The two Turkish nurses, whose bodies were found under the rubble of a collapsed hotel in Saudi Arabia after being reported missing for three days, will not have a grave, but are to be buried in Mecca instead. The bodies of Sengul Uzuner and Handan Kurtulus were rescued from under the rubble of the collapsed hotel, and identified by friends of the two. On hearing this news, the families of the nurses requested that the bodies be brought back to Turkey.

    Saudi's did not allow it

Saudi authorities, however, stated that funerals of hadji candidates were not sent to their own countries, and that they would be buried in Mecca. The families of the two women were unable to go to Mecca either, due to the closed borders – a result of the pilgrimage.

No gravestone in Islamic sect of Wahhabi

Their families, destitute, allowed for the burial in Mecca. Since, according to Wahhabi teachings, there is no gravestone at the head of a grave, it is apparantly extremly difficult to locate Kurtulus and Uzuner's graves.
