Monthly Record in Export: 5 Billion Dollars

The growth in exports of Turkey continued and reached up to a record level of 5 billion dollars in March, for the first time.According to Turkish Exporters Assembly, the growth rate in Turkish exports in March 2004 was 39.7% in comparison with the same term of 2003. The apparel industry was the leading sector in the historical record in Turkish exports in March.Oguz Satici, the chairman of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TIM) said that the volume of exports will exceed 60 billion dollars in 2004. Moreover, Satici said that the results of the local elections pointed out to trust for the future and the stability of the Turkish economy.Â
