Celebrating the national day, thousands of Istanbul dwellers carried a Turkish flag of 3 thousand 800 meters, which was prepared by the Sisli Municipality and stretched from Mecidiyekoy to Taksim. A parachutist in Hipodrom, Ankara, landed the biggest “flying flag” of the world, which is 433.5 square meters big. Turkey is preparing to have her place in the Guinness Records Book as having the biggest national and flying flags of the world. Both flags were publicized in the national day ceremonies on Wednesday.The giant Turkish flag, which was 3 thousand 800 meters long and 4.5 meters wide and had a weight of 3 thousand 500 kilograms, was stretched from Mecidiyekoy to Taksim in Istanbul on Wednesday by people celebrating the October 29.Another Turkish flag, which was deemed as the biggest flying flag in the world, was landed in the Hippodrome of Ankara by a parachutist during the national day ceremonies.
