Istanbul bomb-maker dies in blast

A blast in the basement of a building in the Caglayan district of Istanbul has killed one man and wounded seven other people. The man killed was in the process of making a bomb said security officials on Wednesday. "According to the first indications, the explosion happened as a bomb was being made," Istanbul police chief Celalettin Cerrah was quoted as saying by the state-run Anatolian news agency. The blast happened in a shoe shop in the basement of Oral Business Center on Vatan street in Caglayan. Cerrah said, ''There is a body and an injured person in the building at the moment. The blast happened while they were making a bomb.''  Â
