    Iraq-Turkey pipeline attacks delay opening

    A section of the Iraq-Turkey oil pipeline in the Riyad area southwest of Kirkuk, has been blown up by saboteurs delaying the flow and export of oil for up to more than 10 days, officials said on Wednesday. Crews are working around the clock to fix the damage.

    The pipeline which had been out of use for two years, plans to carry exports to Turkey. This is just another incident in a long line of attacks on pipelines in Iraq. Most of the attacks have been concentrated in the Sunni Muslim areas in the North.

    Present production is at an all time low of around 400,000 barrels a day, compared with 800,000 barrels per day before the war.
