Businessman Vasilaki Floridi sued the Greek Patriarch on grounds that his donation of 3 million 300 thousand dollars was not used properly.

Floridi also reported crime against Patriarch Bartholomeos, claiming that he was the illegal son of the cleric.
Floridi said that "They are spending all the pledges for themselves. I will petition to ECHR." Greek Patriarch are supposed not to get ever married. Officials of the patriarchate did not comment on the claims of Bartholomeos having a son outside wedlock.
