-- GREEK CYPRIOTS ACCEPT EQUALITY OF TURKISH CYPRIOTS
During the meeting between President Mehmet Ali Talat of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias, Greek Cypriots for the first time accepted --in written-- TRNC's being an equal founder state with Greek Cypriots. It was announced that the two leaders agreed on a federation having one international identity.

-- WE DON'T ESCAPE FROM TABLE
Supreme Court of Appeals President Hasan Gerceker said that if there was a call from President Abdullah Gul, they did not escape from table. He added that such an initiative would be beneficial.

Industry & Trade Minister Zafer Caglayan made an interesting statement regarding the death of workers at Tuzla shipyards. Caglayan said, "I wonder if several foreign focuses have problems with the current condition of our industry. I wonder if there is a provocation."

Doctoral student Bayram Butun from Bilkent University invented a laser using nanotechnology, and made a revolution in electronics.

--HEADSCARF DECISION IN THE BEGINNING OF JUNE
Constitutional Court President Hasim Kilic said that the court would hear the case, which was filed to cancel the Constitutional amendment on freedom of headscarf at universities, in the beginning of June.

AKP's deputy chairman Dengir Mir Mehmet Firat said that jurisdiction lost its neutrality and independence. Firat said, "everybody has to bow to national will."

-- CYPRUS UNITED FEDERAL REPUBLIC TO BORN
President Mehmet Ali Talat of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias met yesterday again. Both leaders affirmed their commitment to a bi-zonal, bi-communal federation based on political equality.

Mineral Research & Exploration Directorate General announced that it found a second water reserve under the existing ground water at Konya Basin. It stated that water problem of the region would completely be solved through drilling activities.

AKP strongly reacted the statement of Supreme Court of Appeals. AKP's deputy chairman Dengir Mir Mehmet Firat said, "a jurisdiction, which is making political statements to public, lost its neutrality and independence. The race to release statements of Supreme Court of Appeals and Council of State is being watched by Turkish people with wonder."
