Former P.M. Mesut Yılmaz was sent to the High Tribunal Court at the voting in Parliament yesterday, 429 in favor and 15 against. Yılmaz is the first prime minister who will be tried at the Tribunal Court at which former Minster of State Gunes Taner will also be tried on the grounds that they committed irregularities in the Turkbank tender.AKP’s Deputy Ertugrul Yalcınbayır who had been also a deputy of the Motherland Party ANAP (whose leader was Mesut Yılmaz), beforehand, said at the voting, “We are about to make a decision on the most important issue of the Turkish Republic. Parliament made its decision previously on this issue and decided that there was no need to sent Yılmaz to the Tribunal Court. This issue can not be again carried on the agenda, without new evidences. Unless you respect former resolutions of Parliament, one will not respect of yours, one day.”Emin Colasan said on NTV channel, about the issue of sending Mesut Yılmaz and Gunes Taner to the High Tribunal Court, “I also agree with sending them to the Tribunal Court; however the implementation is inadequate. There were many looters and smugglers in Turkey; but nothing have done for them, because they were the men of the party in the power. AKP claims that it works with jet speed. However, it has not named 8 members of the Council of State since January, because the list which the Council of State submitted to the government did not include people who were close to AKP.”
