The first Turkish Airlines (THY) plane landed at Slovenian capital of Ljubljana, it was reported on Tuesday. Holding a news conference in Ljubljana, THY Deputy Director General Halil Tokel said that the number of THY's destinations abroad would soon increase to 103.

Tokel also said that Istanbul-Ljubljana flights would contribute significantly to the economy and tourist activities of the two countries.
 
“THY, which owns a fleet of 100 planes aims to help in Turkey's export and other activities abroad with the new destinations,” Tokel said.

“THY will reach its goal of 40 percent growth in 2006”, he added.
 
The direct flights between Istanbul-Ljubljana will take place 3 times a week --on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.
